About John P. Murphy
Hi! My name’s John and I’m a science fiction/mystery writer. I have a PhD in engineering (coordination and control of multi-robot systems). I’m from West Virginia originally and now live in New Hampshire, with a half-year detour in Japan. I am a member of SFWA and the Codex writer’s group, and am a graduate of the Viable Paradise writing workshop, class of 2010. You may have run into me at Boskone or Readercon.
I’m always willing to be a resource to my fellow writers on the subjects of my expertise. If there’s something you need to know about networking, robotics, engineering and science, cooking, coffee roasting, or anything else you think I might know, shoot me an email: my first name at johnpmurphy.net.
(Why the vaguely pretentious use of a middle initial? I get a lot of hits for other John Murphys, including other writers named John Murphy. The Google Alert on my name turns up obituaries on a fairly regular basis. So the “P” is more a navigational aid than anything else. It stands for “Caffeine”.)
